Q: Why can the pharmacy only fill a prescription for a maximum of three months?

A:The FDA considers quantities greater than a 90-day supply to be "not for personal use" and will block the shipment at the border.

Q:Can I order Valium or Tylenol 3?

A:No. The FDA does not allow people to import any narcotic, habit forming or controlled substances.

Q:Will they accept my insurance coverage?

A: Unfortunately, we cannot accept American insurance. However, you?ll receive a detailed receipt. Ask your insurance company if they will accept receipts from a foreign company.

Q:Is it legal?

A:The FDA allows consumers to import up to a 90-day supply of prescription drugs for personal use (i.e. not for resale), as long as the purchaser has a prescription for the drugs being imported.

Q:Are there any duties, taxes or other fees?

A:No. Prescription medications from Global Pharmacy Canada are tax and duty free. You pay only for your medications and the flat $12.00 shipping fee.

Q:What about refills?

A: Our free refill reminder service will contact you by postal mail or e-mail before you run out of your medications, so that you can authorize your refill order.

Q:How soon will I receive my shipment?

A:All orders will be delivered in approximately 10 to 21 days from the time of payment and receipt of your prescription.

Q: What's the fastest way to get my medication?

A: The fastest way is to use the website. Also paying by credit card will ensure the fastest delivery.

Q: How can I pay for my order?

A:You can pay by :

  • Visa
  • MasterCard
We do not accept American Express, Discover Card or personal checks.

Q: Can orders be shipped together for the $12.00 fee?

A:Yes. If you and your spouse order at the same time, with the same shipping address, then you will only be charged one shipping fee.

Q: How much is shipping?

A: All your medications will be shipped to you for a flat rate of $12.00 USD per order, so we suggest that you order all your prescriptions at the same time.

Q: Is Global Pharmacy Canada a pharmacy?

A:No - Global Pharmacy Canada provides information and assistance to people who lack adequate prescription drug coverage. We act as an agent for Indian pharmacies. We will handle all the details for you. We process your order and place it with world-class suppliers and assure that it will be delivered to you within 10-14 days.

Q: My prescriptions are on file at my regular pharmacy. What should I do?

A:You can either make an appointment with your doctor to get new prescriptions, or send us a copy of your pill bottle.

Q: Can we fill prescriptions from American doctors?

A:Yes. Once the pharmacy reviews and approves your prescription, your order will be filled.

Q: Is a prescription required?

A: Yes. All medications ordered from us must have been prescribed by a medical practitioner. To provide us with your prescriptions, either send us a copy of the original prescription, or if it is on file at your local pharmacy, then you can send a copy/picture of the pill bottle’s label.

Q:What about the quality and safety of the medications?

A: Generic medications are just as safe and effective as their brand-name equivalents. A generic drug is a medication for which the original manufacturer has lost its patent protection, allowing other companies to produce and sell the exact same medication, bringing in competition and driving down prices. Due to strict government regulations, generic medications are, by law, the exact same medicine as the original brand name drug, simply made by another company.

Our pharmacies source all of the medications from India, the world's largest manufacturer of generic medications. India's manufacturing facilities are world-renowned for their product quality and safety. In fact, these same manufacturing facilities often supply the base ingredients for many of the brand-name versions of the drugs that are sold in US pharmacies.

All the drugs our pharmacies supply are government approved. The manufacturers our pharmacies buy from follow strict World Health Organization standards for Good Manufacturing Processes (GMP). These manufacturing facilities have been approved by one or several of the following agencies:

  • Food and Drug Administration (FDA), USA
  • Medicines Control Agency (MCA), UK
  • Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA), Australia
  • Medicines Control Council (MCC), South Africa
  • National Institute of Pharmacy (NIP), Hungary
  • Pharmaceutical Inspection Convention (PIC), Germany
  • State Institute for the Control of Drugs, Slovak Republic
  • Food and Drug Administration (FDA), India

Q: Why are our medications so inexpensive?

A: The World Trade Organization (WTO) treaties between nations protect patents and trademarks. India is one of the few nations that selected a protection scheme based upon protection of the manufacturing process (Process Patents) rather than using the more common scheme of protecting the actual product (Product Patents).

As a result, Indian pharmaceutical chemists can legally create, and sell worldwide, drugs that are still patent protected elsewhere if they do so using a process that creates the identical drug through the use of a different process.

In the United States pharmaceutical makers are given years of product patent protection and thus a monopoly; allowing them to charge any price they see fit. Whereas in India, companies have minimal patent protection, there are many manufacturers producing generic copies of brand name medication and compete solely on price. Therefore the consumer is the winner by getting both high quality medications at low prices.

Q: Why are your drugs less expensive than other pharmacies selling generic drugs from India?

A: Simply put, our competitors in Canada are marking-up the medicine more than we are. We sell the very same medicine, made by the same Indian manufacturers, and in most cases, even dispensed by the same overseas pharmacy. We took the policy of putting the customer first and pricing our medicine more in line with the cost of manufacture. Many of our competitors, on the other hand, have chosen to take advantage of the customer and charge way more for the drugs than would be justified by their wholesale costs. Our competitors put profits first, whereas we put the customer first. Our competitors grab as much profit as they possibly can, knowing that you’ll pay it because it is still cheaper than US brand-name prices. We make a modest profit with the simple goal of helping as many people as possible live longer, healthier lives.

Q: Do you need any other Information when I fax or e-mail in my prescription?

A: When you Fax or E-mail us your prescriptions, please make sure to include your full name and zip code so that we can easily match your preseciptions with your account.
